On the doorstep from Bluewater
Ahuriri
A working harbour of fishing boats, waterfront bars and heritage wool stores, on the hotel’s doorstep.
Bluewater sits on West Quay in Ahuriri, the marina precinct on the northern edge of Napier. It is a genuinely working harbour: bait buckets and forklifts share the quay edge with outdoor tables and coffee cups.
The land here was lifted out of the sea by the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake, which is why the old wool stores and warehouses now sit beside a sheltered inner basin rather than open water. A flat, accessible boardwalk runs along the water.
From Bluewater this is your neighbourhood. Pandora Pond, the West Quay dining strip, and the foreshore path toward the city are all on foot from the door.
