Ahuriri makes an easy base for day trips. Most of the region sits within a relaxed half-day: the Art Deco quarter and Marine Parade are minutes away, the wineries twenty, Te Mata Peak around thirty-five, and Cape Kidnappers about forty plus the walk.
Roads through the Heretaunga Plains are flat and well signposted, and Hawke’s Bay Airport is about ten minutes from the hotel if you are picking up a car or flying in and out.
