Hawke’s Bay Wineries
New Zealand’s oldest wine region, with the Gimblett Gravels, Craggy Range and Mission Estate.
Hawke’s Bay has been making wine since 1851, making it New Zealand’s oldest wine region. The cellar doors spread inland from Napier, most within twenty to thirty minutes of Ahuriri.
The Gimblett Gravels and Bridge Pa Triangle are known for full-bodied reds, while the Te Awanga coast leans cooler. Mission Estate, Craggy Range and Elephant Hill are among the names worth building a day around.
